A Springettsbury Township man died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a wooded area along Route 30 in West Manchester Township Friday night.

Jose A. Calderon, 52, of the 1600 block of Long Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:17 p.m., said York County Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley.

Calderon was riding a motorcycle west on Route 30 when the motorcycle went off the highway and crashed in a wooded area just east of the West Market Street interchange, according to a news release from West Manchester Township Police.

The crash happened about 7 p.m., Stabley said.

Calderon was not wearing a helmet and died of multiple blunt force trauma, Stabley said.

Its not known why the motorcycle went off the road, police said.
