The PBA Bowlers Supply/Storm Eastern Open field this weekend at Colony Park Lanes North features three Hall of Famers, several regular competitors on the Professional Bowlers Association Tour and a half dozen local bowlers.
The action kicks off on Friday with a pro-am event at 7 p.m. On Saturday, bowlers compete in eight-game qualifying sessions at 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The top 16 bowlers from Saturday advance to match play beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
PBA Hall of Famers Johnny Petraglia (1982), Parker Bohn (2000) and Danny Wiseman (2013) represent a total of 59 titles.
Petraglia won his first title in 1966, and in 2012 he became the first PBA bowler to earn titles in six different decades. He owns 14 crowns.
Bohn boasts 33 titles and is fourth on the all-time PBA career earnings list. He was Player of the Year in 1999 and 2002.
Wiseman, a Baltimore resident, was ranked No. 42 on the list of the PBA's Top 50 Bowlers of All-Time. He has captured 12 titles, including the 2004 USBC Masters.
Wes Malott, Bill O'Neill and Kelly Kulick represent the current PBA Tour competitors with multiple crowns.
Six area bowlers are among the field of 110 bowlers. They include Adam Baer, Greg Bruff, Brandon Hinderer, Brent Hunter, Terry Miller and Jimmy Plessinger.
First place is expected to pay $2,500. The tournament is free and open to the public.
