A former West York man who fled the state after molesting an 11-year-old girl has been sentenced to at least a decade in prison.
Eyade Koubidina, 39, formerly of the 1200 block of West King Street, was convicted in April of aggravated indecent assault with a child less than 16, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, indecent assault with a child less than 13 and corruption of a minor.
On Monday, Koubidina was sentenced to 10 to 20 years in state prison, according to court records.
He fled the state after the sexual assault but was captured inside a home in Spanish Fork, Utah, by U.S. marshals in July 2011.
According to court documents, his 11-year-old victim went to his home on June 10, 2011, to play with her friends. But those friends and their mother weren't yet home -- only Koubidina and a baby.
He invited the girl inside to wait for her friends to arrive home, then led her to an upstairs bedroom where he performed oral sex on her, court documents state.
