HALLAM -- The Hallam Express is showing no signs of slowing down in its pursuit of the Susquehanna Baseball League regular-season title.

Hallam and Red Lion completed a suspended game on Sunday, and the Express pulled out a 3-2, 13-inning victory to improve its record to 22-6. Hallam is two games ahead in the loss column of the nearest pursuer with four games remaining on its schedule.

Jon Benchich's third hit of the game, a one-out single in the bottom of the 14th, delivered Jaron Shimmel with the winning run. Shimmel drew a walk and took second on wild pitch before Benchich drove a pitch past the second-base bag and into center field.

Veteran pitcher Shawn Hedrick, who worked all 14 innings, earned the victory.

The right-hander pitched 10 innings on June 17 before the game was suspended by darkness, and he returned for four more innings on Sunday.

It's difficult to say which was more impressive: the number of strikeouts or the number of walks that Hedrick recorded in the latest victory.

He racked up 21 strikeouts while issuing just one walk. The base on balls came with two outs in the sixth inning.

Dan Wecker supported Hedrick with two hits, including the game's only extra-base hit, a double.

Jason Enoch and Logan Whitman collected two hits for Red Lion, and Mark Sheckard batted across both of the team's runs.

Daryl Harang pitched the first 10 innings for Red Lion, allowing two runs, striking out six and walking one in a no-decision.
