West York High School graduate Brad Stathmeyer finished his stellar freshman swimming season at West Chester University with an academic honor.

Strathmeyer made the Dean's List. In addition to holding a 3.87 grade-point average, Strathmeyer was the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Year, breaking several league and meet records, while winning all of the distance championship events.

Strathmeyer also competed at the NCAA Division II National Championships and medaled in all three of his individual events, placing third in the 500 freestyle and the 1,650 free, and seventh in the 1,000 free. His 500 free time at nationals qualifies him to compete in the upcoming U.S. Open in Irvine, Calif., in August.
