PennDOT will close a portion of Route 216/616 to all through traffic for two weeks just north of Church Street in Glen Rock Borough beginning at 9 a.m. Monday.

Local traffic will be able to use the road up to the closure. However, a signed detour will direct through traffic around the closure by way of Route 216, Susquehanna Trail (State Route 3001), Valley Road (SR 3022), Clearview Drive (SR 3006), and Route 616.

The around-the-clock road closing for the next two weeks is necessary for motorists' safety as PennDOT maintenance crews repair a retaining wall along the road.

It is anticipated that the repair work - involving the replacement of some of the wall - will be finished by Friday, July 19, and the road reopened to traffic by mid-afternoon that day.
