Officers arrested 57 people on a total of 176 outstanding summary warrants Saturday during a York City warrant sweep, police said.

The sweep was conducted by the York City Police Department's nuisance-abatement patrol officers, along with state constables, police said.

Those arrested were taken to the office of District Judge Linda Williams, where they paid a total of $15,949 in outstanding fines and costs on their warrants, according to police.

Seven people were sent to county prison after failing to either pay their fines or post collateral, police said. Two of the seven were also charged with drug offenses, police said.

The outstanding summary warrants ranged from parking and traffic offenses to school-code violations to disorderly conduct, according to York City Police, who said more sweeps are being planned.
