Three more men face federal charges in connection with an alleged Latin Kings drug-trafficking ring in York.
The United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced this week that a federal grand jury returned an indictment of the three York City men.
Hector Rengifo, 40, is charged with distribution of heroin.
Carlos Ortaga, age unknown, and Jose Cartagena, 35, are each charged with distribution of heroin and cocaine.
The indictments are the result of a two-year investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police and the York County Drug Task Force with help from the FBI. Authorities conducted hundreds of drug purchases from dozens of individuals allegedly affiliated with the Latin Kings gang, according to a news release.
Eight other York City men were indicted and charged in May in connection with the same investigation.
Indicted were the following men: August Ranalli, 31, Marcus Garcia, 26, David Ramsey, 31, Antonio Navaro-Garcia, 21, Brandon Jones, 24, Michael Enriquez, 28, Daniel Pacheco-Morales, 41, and Carlos Martinez-Villalongo, 36.
If convicted, Rengifo, Ortaga and Cartagena face maximum penalties of 20 years in prison, followed by supervised release and a fine.- Erin James may also be reached at email@example.com.
