Conrads, East Prospect and Hallam continued their strong starts to the Susquehanna League baseball season with victories on Thursday evening.
First-place Conrads rallied past Jacobus, 11-6, to improve to 7-1.
East Prospect (7-2) remained just a half game behind Conrads with an 18-2 pounding of Stewartstown.
Hallam stayed just a game out of first with a 10-2 beating of York Township.
SUSQUEHANNA LEAGUE GAMES
CONRADS 11, JACO BUS 6: At Jacobus, Conrads scored the last seven runs of the game after falling behind 6-4.
Andrew Gideon blasted a three-run home run for the winners, and Travis Hake went 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Josh Knaub added two hits for Conrads, which put together two four-run innings.
A.J. Hammond was a perfect 3-for-3 for Jacobus, and Mike Austin, Mitch Stoltzfus and Jed Larkin collected two hits apiece.
Randy Stewart (one strikeout, three walks) pitched the first six innings to earn the victory.
EAST PROSPECT 18, STEWARTSTOWN 2 (SIX INNINGS): At East Prospect, the home team plated nine runs in the bottom of the second to take a commanding 9-0 lead and never looked back.
Ryky Smith led Prospect at the plate by going 2-for-4, including a grand slam in the third. He collected six RBIs. Cory Poff went 4-for-5 for the winners, while Seth Lefever pitched a complete six innings to record the win, striking out three and walking two. The game was shortened to six innings because of darkness.
HALLAM 10, YORK TOWNSHIP 2: At Spry, Jaron Shimmel led the visitors to the victory by pitching a complete game, striking out five and walking two.
Shimmel also helped himself out at the plate by going 2-for-3, including a double, to go with one RBI. Eric McNeil went 3-for-3 for the winners with three RBIs.
For Township (6-3), Mike Wokulich went 2-for-4, including a double, while Morgan Markey went 2-for-4.
