A two-day Mental Health First Aid Training workshop will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, 6881 Church Road, Cross Roads.
Nationally certified instructors will train participants to identify, understand and respond to signs of a mental health emergency.
National certification is awarded upon successful completion of the 12-hour course, and participants are also eligible for 12 professional and human resources credits, 1.5 continuing education units for United Methodist clergy/leaders, or 12 act 48 education credits.
The workshop is open to the public at a cost of $40 to cover training materials and lunch both days. Since financial support for this training is provided by the Susquehanna Annual Conference Mental Health Task Force, there is no cost for clergy or members in good standing of United Methodist churches.
