York will host a DeLorean convention that could turn some heads.

This Saturday, more than 20 DeLorean cars - a brand famous for being in the "Back to the Future" films - will cruise around the West York area. The gull-winged stainless steel cars will be hard to miss.

The DeLorean Mid-Atlantic Club's spring social includes a tech session at Zech's Service Center and an evening dinner at Logan's Roadhouse. Club members, age 18 to 70, are from as far as North Carolina and New Jersey.

The event is promoting what York has to offer, said club member Felecia Lundgren.

"There's some neat things in York," she said.

The social's luncheon will feature food, such as chicken corn soup, pretzel sandwiches, snacks and dessert from local businesses. Utz, Martins, Wege, Rutters and Carman's Ice Cream will give attendees a slice of York County, the West Manchester Township woman said.

The event is not open to the public, but the cars will be at various locations in the West York area this weekend. If you spot one, feel free to look - but don't touch.

"Stainless steel shows every fingerprint," she said.
