A former North Codorus Township man is accused of molesting a girl over a four-year period, and his wife is accused of helping him do it.
Stephen Noel Jessee, 44, now of the 1600 block of Westgate Drive in West Manchester Township, is free on $150,000 bail, charged with the felonies of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault and corruption of a minor.
April Jessee, 40, of the 1300 block of East Market Street in Spring Garden Township, is charged with the same offenses for allegedly facilitating the child molestation, according to Southwestern Regional Police Chief Greg Bean. She also is charged with a felony count of child endangerment.
She remains in York County Prison on $150,000 bail.
The allegations: Stephen Jessee repeatedly molested the girl between 2006 and 2010, starting when she was 14 years old, Bean said.
At the time, the Jessees lived in the 5600 block of Lischeys Church Road in North Codorus Township.
April Jessee knew her husband was molesting the girl and, over a several-year period, not only allowed the abuse to occur but took "extraordinary steps" to help it happen, police allege.
The Jessees were arrested Friday and arraigned at the county's central booking unit, Bean said.
Anyone with more information about the Jessees is asked to call Detective Sgt. Lisa Layden at (717) 225-1333, ext. 115.
