Northeastern trailed 6-4 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, but stormed back with three runs in its final at-bat to earn a 7-6 softball victory over Susquehannock in Manchester.
With two outs in the seventh, Shannon Dolan hit a double, followed by a Natalee Brown single. Allie Sweitzer then hit a two-run triple to tie the game at 6-6. Kearstin Shaffer then hit an RBI single to plate the game-winning run.
For the game, Shaffer went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Maddie Renard had two RBIs and a double. Sweitzer also came on in relief of starter Renard in the fourth inning to pick up the win on the mound.
For the Warriors, Ally Kerr went 2-for-4, including a double, to go with two RBIs. Emily Fodel went 3-for-4, including a double, to go with three RBIs. Mallory Lebo went 3-for-4 for Susquehannock, while Jordan McGee went 2-for-4.
RED LION 9, NEW OXFORD 8: At New Oxford, the Lions trailed 8-6 entering the top of the seventh, but rallied to plate three runs to take the lead and go on to capture the York-Adams Division I victory. Megan Chapman highlighted the inning with a double, while teammates Kelsey Clever and Megan Greenplate each connected for singles. For the game, Chapman, Clever and Greenplate each went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Taylor Gould and Katie Shultz each went 2-for-4, while Alexa Taylor tripled. Shultz also picked up the complete-game victory, striking out eight and walking none. For the Colonials, Sarah Groft went 3-for-4, including two doubles, while teammate Cali Bailey went 3-for-4, including a double. Red Lion improved to 4-2 in the division and 6-3 overall.
CENTRAL YORK 14, SOUTH WESTERN 0: At Central, the home team rolled to victory in a game that was ended after 41/2 innings because of the mercy rule. Jordyn Miller homered and tripled and drove in five runs for the winners, while Ally Dziwis belted three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs. Taylor Rohrbaugh and Kayla Resh combined on a two-hit shutout for the Panthers. They combined for four strikeouts and zero walks. Central improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in York-Adams Division I.
YORK CATHOLIC 16, BIGLERVILLE 3: At York Catholic, the Fighting Irish combined three hits with 12 walks to score 13 runs in the second inning. York Catholic pitcher Carrie Fix checked the Canners on two hits. Fix struck out five and walked one. Biglerville's starting shortstop, Maddie Wenk, came in to pitch two scoreless innings after the Canners' first two pitchers were injured.
DOVER 2, YORK SUB URBAN 0: At Suburban, Alexis Gohn pitched a one-hit shutout for Dover. She struck out 13 and walked four. Olivia Eytcheson pitched a complete game for Suburban, allowing just four hits. She struck out three and walked none. Bri Crossan doubled and scored a run for Dover.
KENNARD-DALE 10, BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 2: At Fawn Grove, Julia D'Arrigo pitched a complete game to get the win, striking out nine and walking three. She also doubled. Rhiannon McGlone belted two triples for K-D. Jazmyn Gutshall and Kaila Beach also tripled for the Rams.
EASTERN YORK 8, WEST YORK 6: At West York, the Golden Knights used a five-run fourth inning to earn the win. Kaila Beach (3-for-4, RBI) and Sierra Arnold (2-for-4, two RBIs, pitching win) led Eastern. Kellie Caudill (2-for-3, two RBIs) and Jossalin Shipley (homer, complete game) led the Bulldogs.
FAIRFIELD 18, YORK TECH 6: At Spry, Bri Fitz (four hits, double) and Kennedy Keller (three hits, triple) paced the Green Knights. Alexis Boie (two hits) and Cheyenne Fulcher (double) led Tech's attack.
WAYNESBORO 12, SPRING GROVE 2: At Waynesboro, the Rockets took an early 2-0 lead after the top of the first, but were unable to plate any further runs and dropped the non-league game. Spring Grove fell to 6-3 overall.
