After making two special deliveries recently at the Springettsbury Township post office, the identity of the postal pooper was flushed out Wednesday afternoon by alert postal employees, police said.
Township police said the man defecated in the post office lobby about six weeks ago and made a clean getaway.
He returned to the Concord Road post office shortly after 5 p.m. Monday, where he squatted on the private sidewalk alongside the building, undid his jeans and let loose, police said.
Employees called 911, but he got away again, according to police, who said the employees recognized him as the same man who befouled the post office lobby.
Then, about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, the man returned to the post office and employees called 911 again, police said.
Officers found the man sitting in his vehicle in the post office parking lot and had a chat with him, police said.
His name was not released Thursday because charges have not yet been filed against him. Police previously said he's heavyset, white and in his early 60s, with balding hair.
