The Rent-A-Kid program, sponsored by the York County Area Agency on Aging, needs kids in middle and senior high school.
Rent-A-Kid is an intergenerational program that offers students an opportunity to earn money doing routine household chores including yard work, mowing lawns and shoveling snow for York County seniors. The program also provides an opportunity for senior citizens and teenagers to interact and help each other.
Kids who wish to register must be in grades 7 through 12. Applications are available at all school guidance offices or they can be downloaded from the "Forms & Documents" page of www.ycaaa.org.
The recommended payment by the senior citizen is $5 per hour, but the teenager may negotiate a different pay rate depending on the type of work and the senior citizen's ability to pay.
For additional information, interested kids can contact the Rent-A-Kid program at (717) 771-9103 or (800) 632-9073.
