A male in his 20s was taken to a local hospital after a hang glider accident Friday afternoon, Fairview Township Police said.
The incident occurred in the 200 block of Shauffnertown Road at about 3:45 p.m.
Fairview Township Patrolman Pete Picciurro said police are not releasing the man's name, but said he's from Harrisburg. He suffered back and ankle injuries, police said.
The man was coming in for landing in a large field when the wind apparently caught his chute and caused it to run into a large tree, police said.
He fell out of the seat of the hang glider and fell about 20 feet, police said.
