Thieves stole $4,000 worth of jewelry from a vehicle parked outside the home of its Codorus Township owner, state police said.

It happened overnight Thursday at the home of Heather Conover, 40, of the 4200 block of Shaffer Church Road, according to police.

Troopers said the thief or thieves took a safe from inside Conover's vehicle. The jewelry was inside the safe, police said.
