Maryland State Police are searching for family members of a homeless man who might have ties to Pennsylvania.
On Oct. 6, a man's skeletal remains were found along a path in a vacant lot in along Baltimore Boulevard in Westminster, Md., police said. There was no evidence of foul play, they said.
The remains had no identification with them, leading investigators to reach out to other police departments in the area to ask them about missing-persons reports.
Police said eventually, they obtained X-rays of Thomas E. Linehan, a local homeless man. Using those X-rays, a medical examiner positively identified the remains as those of Linehan, police said.
Linehan, 67, had no fixed address, but may have ties to Pennsylvania, according to police, who are seeking his next of kin.
Anyone with information about Linehan's survivors is asked to call Maryland State Police at (410) 386-3000.
