Springettsbury Township Police are advising residents to beware of a scam after a resident reported a suspicious phone call to police on Monday.
The resident told police that he received a call from a man who claimed the resident's brother was injured in a crash, according to police.
The caller also told the resident that if he didn't turn over money, the man's brother would be shot, police said.
Similar phone calls have been made in other areas in the county. Police remind everyone to be very cautious of phone scams. If you have any doubt if a phone call is legitimate please contact police for guidance.
