York Water Co. on Tuesday announced increased earnings for the fourth quarter and full year.
Company President Jeff Hines said operating revenues increased $320,000 during the fourth quarter of 2012, and net income increased $275,000 during the same time period.
Earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2012 was 2 cents higher than the fourth quarter of 2011.
Last year, annual operating revenues increased $818,000, and net income increased $219,000, compared to 2011.
Earnings per share for year was 1 cent higher than in 2011.
Hines attributed higher revenue to an increase in the Distribution System Improvement Charge and growth in the customer base-mainly through acquisitions.
Last year, York Water invested $11.5 million in capital projects to upgrade its infrastructure, and the company plans to invest $14.1 million this year and $14 million next year, he said.
