York City Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man they allege was involved in the slaying of Trevahn Kent in February.
Derrick Eugene Johnson, 22, of no fixed address, is being sought by police in connection to the shooting death of Kent, 21, of Vander Avenue outside Temptations, a strip club at 617 E. Market St. on Feb. 16. He is being charged with criminal homicide.
When Kent and a friend walked out of the club, someone in a group of people fired at them, Lt. Tim Utley, who supervises York City's detective bureau, had said. Both men ran, but Kent collapsed half a block later and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
He died of a gunshot wound that went through his arm and into chest, according to the county coroner's office.
On Monday, Utley said Johnson was the man who fired the shot the killed Kent.
Police do not yet know the motive behind the shooting.
Police describe Johnson as a 5-foot-11 black man who his approximately 180 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
While Johnson does not have a fixed address, police believe he is staying somewhere in the city.
