Spring Garden Township on Thursday turned over 60 pounds of unwanted medications to the York County Solid Waste Authority on Thursday, township police Chief George Swartz said.

The drugs were then incinerated.

The township collected the unused medications as part of the solid waste authorities' drug takeback program.

Swartz said the program has been "very successful" in Spring Garden Township.
