Police are urging people not to fall for a phone scam in which a caller tells them a relative has been kidnapped.

York City Police said they've received two complaints so far this week from people targeted by scammers.

Scammers claimed relatives of the people called had been kidnapped and that ransom money needed to be wired to a location in Puerto Rico, according to police.

If you receive such a call -- or one that sounds similar -- hang up and call police.
