Two Spring Grove men have been charged for their alleged involvement in a January burglary in West York.
Cory Michael Baker, 22, and Wesley Adam Bentzel, 25, were arrested by borough police in connection with the January 30 burglary of a home in the 1900 block of Worth Street, police said.
Police allege that Bentzel and Baker stole jewelry from the home and Bentzel sold it to a local jewelry store to cover his cellphone bill. Baker is accused of driving Bentzel to the home and to the store, police said.
Baker is charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and receiving stolen property, according to online court documents. He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.
Bentzel is charged with attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft and receiving stolen property, online court documents state. He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail.
At the time of the burglary, Baker was free on his own recognizance after being charged for his alleged involvement in the West York retail theft ring. In that case, police said, Baker committed several retail thefts and returned the merchandise to area stores.
