A bridge that spans the Codorus Creek at the Manchester Township and Springettsbury Township line will be down to a single lane as its rehabbed.

Work on the bridge that connects Emig and Mundis Mill roads will start Monday, March 11, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Starting Monday, March 18, a temporary signal will control a single-lane alternating traffic pattern over the Codorus Creek as repairs are conducted on one half of the bridge at a time.

The $1.3 million project, awarded to Jay Fulkroad & Sons Inc. of Juniata County, includes bridge deck and parapet replacement, bridge beam bearing repair, guiderail installation and new traffic lines, PennDOT said.

Work is expected to wrap up in mid October.
