The New Hope Academy boys' basketball team won the District 3-A third-place game on Thursday night at East Pennsboro, routing Harrisburg Christian, 76-34.

Montrel Morgan led the Mighty Ants with 16 points. Also for the winners, Domminique Salisbury knocked in 15, Louie Valentine had 13 and Dexter Nunez scored 10. Harrisburg Christian fell to 12-14.

New Hope Academy (18-5) secured the No. 3 seed from District 3 for the PIAA State Class A Tournament, which starts Friday, March 8. The Ants will play the District 1 champion, either Church Farm or Gospel of Grace Christian, at a site and time to be determined. Those two teams square off for the District 1-A title at 2 p.m. Saturday at Villanova.

OTHER BOYS' BASKETBALL

BISHOP McDEVITT 64, NORTHEASTERN 52: At Milton Hershey, Northeastern led 11-10 at the end of one quarter, but Bishop McDevitt outscored the Bobcats in each of the next three quarters to win the District 3-AAA fifth-place game.

The Crusaders' Justin McCarthur led all scorers with 25 points, while Khalid Nwandu answered with 23 points for Northeastern. Dyllon Hudson-Emory and Milik Gantz combined for 28 McDevitt points, and Braheem Riley finished with 10 points for the Bobcats. McDevitt improved to 19-7.

Northeastern (18-9) will meet the District 11-AAA champion, either Allentown Central Catholic or Bethlehem Catholic, in the first round of the state playoffs on Friday, March 8, at a site to be determined. Allentown Central and Bethlehem Catholic will meet for the District 11-AAA crown at 8 Friday night at Easton.

ALL-STAR GAMES SET FOR MARCH 24: The York White Rose Lions will sponsor the York-Adams League Senior All-Star Basketball Games on Sunday, March 24, at Spring Grove High School.

The girls' game is scheduled for 2 p.m., and the boys' game is set for 4 p.m. Rosters for the game will be released at a future date.
