A 34-year-old man who suffered stab wounds during a purported attack in Windsor Township in November actually stabbed himself, according to police.

On Nov. 26, York Area Regional Police responded the 3000 block of Cape Horn Road for a report that a man was stabbed as he stood alongside the road. The man was stabbed multiple times and was taken to York Hospital for treatment.

At the time, an investigator said the attack was not random, and police were looking for a gray sedan occupied by three men that might have been stopped alongside the road.

However, an investigation found that "no other person assaulted or stabbed the alleged victim as was reported at the time," police said on Tuesday.
