One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Dover Township.
The crash happened in the 3100 block of West Canal Road at 12:34 a.m., according to Deputy York County Coroner Claude Stabley.
The vehicle left the road and hit a tree, and the vehicle caught fire, Stabley said.
The body of the driver sustained "significant fire damage," Stabley said, and the driver was declared dead at 3:05 a.m. at the scene of the crash.
Stabley said an autopsy will be performed Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital to determine the identity of the victim and the cause and manner of death. Authorities will not release the name of the victim until the identification has been made and the victim's family notified.
Northern York County Regional Police are investigating the crash.
