The Republican candidate for the 95th state House District announced in a news release Wednesday the names of his campaign committee members.

Serving as Bryan Tate's campaign chair is Dr. Wanda D. Filer, who practices family medicine part-time in York County. Filer served as Pennsylvania's first physician general.

Shipley Energy CEO Bill Shipley will serve as Tate's campaign finance chairman.

Campaign treasurer will be Grace T. Quartey, who owns accounting and tax-preparation firm Grace & Associates in York City.

Dirk E. Slack, a 25-year veteran of the Army and York County native, will serve as campaign manager.

Tate promises a "grassroots campaign" in the news release.

The 95th District seat was left vacant in January when former Rep. Eugene DePasquale resigned his House seat to serve as the state's auditor general.

Democrats have chosen Kevin Schreiber, York City's economic and community development director, as their candidate.

Bill Swartz, president of Sherman Property Management Inc., is running as a Green Party candidate.

The winner of the special election on May 21 will represent York City, North York, West York, Spring Garden Township and part of West Manchester Township in the state House.
