A Lancaster-area man has pleaded guilty to robbing a downtown York City bank last fall.
David William Stickel, 40, of no fixed address, appeared in York County Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to one count of robbery, according to court records.
As part of a negotiated plea agreement, he was sentenced to three to six years in state prison and ordered to pay $1,833 restitution, according to defense attorney George Margetas.
"He did get some consideration for manning up and turning himself in," Margetas said. "We thank the York City detectives for acknowledging (his cooperation)."
Police said Stickel robbed the PNC Bank at One MarketWay West about 3:45 p.m. Oct. 2. No one was hurt and no weapon was shown.
At the time of Stickel's Oct. 4 arrest, police said he turned himself in.
"He wanted to take responsibility for what he did," Margetas said. "He understands there are consequences."
