A Dallastown man was killed Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in York Township, police said.
David I. Boykin, 31, of North High Street, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:23 p.m. crash, according to Claude Stabley, York County's chief deputy coroner.
Boykin was riding his Yamaha southbound on South Pleasant Avenue near the intersection of Blymire Road, while John Zarfoss was driving a Chevrolet Blazer northbound, according to Sgt. Jeff Dunbar of York Area Regional Police.
Zarfoss started to turn left onto Blymire Road, and the two vehicles collided in the intersection, Dunbar said.
Zarfoss, 47, of Graydon Road in Springfield Township, was not transported to the hospital from the crash scene, Dunbar said.
Dunbar said the motorcycle's speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
Boykin died of multiple injuries, according to Stabley, who said the victim was wearing a helmet. No autopsy is planned.
There were no passengers on the motorcycle or in the SUV at the time of the crash, police said.
The intersection was closed to traffic Tuesday while police examined the crash scene.
