When someone pulled into Lisa Gilland's Peach Bottom Township driveway and snatched her family's Yorkshire terrier, Gilland's two children were playing outside and her husband's truck was in the driveway, she said.

"To know somebody just drove off with her makes me angry," she said. "It was clear people were outside (with the dog)."

Lacy, the Gilland family's tiny 1-year-old terrier, apparently was snatched about noon Feb. 2, according to state police.

Gilland's two children, ages 8 and 10, were playing in the yard of the family's home in the 200 block of Cold Cabin Road when a green SUV drove up, Gilland said.

"It pulled into the driveway, went up the road and turned around," she said.

Gone: Neither of her kids saw anyone get out of the SUV and steal Lacy, but the tiny dog was nowhere to be found after the SUV drove off, according to Gilland.

"Lacy did not wander off," she said, adding she and her husband looked for both Lacy and the green SUV, and also went door-to-door to see if neighbors had seen anything. One neighbor saw the SUV driving away from the neighborhood, she said.

Gilland said she has a message for the dognappers:

"I just want them to know my kids want their dog back," she said. "My daughter especially -- she's heartbroken."

Anyone with information about Lacy's whereabouts, or who might have stolen her, is asked to call state police at 428-1011.
