A homeless man was arrested in Shrewsbury Monday after he yelled at passing cars and people that he had a gun and was going to shoot people, Southern Regional Police said.
Gary Thomas Heller, 53, of no fixed address is charged with making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $15,000 bail, according to online court documents.
Witnesses called police about 7:10 p.m. after they heard Heller yelling obscenities at passing cars and people in the area of South Main Street and Old Farm Lane. One witness told officers that Heller began yelling that he had a gun and was going to shoot people, police said.
Officers found Heller walking on Constitution Avenue.
Heller admitted to officers that he was yelling at people, adding that he's walking from Baltimore to Schwenksville, Pa., police said.
