Two drivers were killed Monday morning in a head-on collision along Interstate 283 outside Harrisburg.
Killed were Marshall Black, 53, of Duncannon, and Mike Kelliher, 59, of Jonestown, according to state police.
Numerous people called 911 about 6 a.m. Monday to report seeing a Hyundai Accent heading north in the southbound lane, state police said. The Hyundai was driven by Black, according to Trooper Rob Hicks.
Black's car sideswiped a Honda Civic near the Highspire exit, but continued on until he crashed head-on into a Volkswagen Jetta driven by Kelliher, Hicks said.
There were no passengers in their cars, police said, and so far no witnesses to the crash have been found, police said.
Black was wearing his seat belt; Kelliher was not, police said.
The crash closed the southbound lane of I-283 for several hours.
