A love triangle among a man, his girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend allegedly came to a head Thursday, leaving one of the men dead and the other in prison.
City detectives and members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested ex-boyfriend Joshua Justin Lookingbill, 24, of 729 W. Poplar St., apartment one, roughly four hours after he allegedly stabbed 37-year-old Nakia Sharif Williams, according to Lookingbill's charging documents.
Williams was stabbed as he was asleep in bed in a second floor bedroom with his girlfriend, Olga Cuadra, in her home in the 400 block of South Pershing Avenue.
Lookingbill was arrested at his job, said Lt. Tim Utley, head of the detective bureau.
He remains in York County Prison without bail, charged with homicide and burglary, police said.
Lookingbill, Williams and his girlfriend, Olga Cuadra, had been involved in an "ongoing domestic problem," Utley said.
Stabbing: Cuadra told authorities that she was awakened about 4:20 a.m. by Williams as he moved around in bed.
A bloodied Williams sat up and told her to call for the police and an ambulance before he fell back on the bed, documents state.
Williams was stabbed multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, Utley said.
The detective said police believe a large kitchen knife was used in the attack.
Just after police and EMS arrived, Cuadra's 7-year-old told her that he saw Lookingbill, the father of three of her children, run downstairs, documents state.
Cuadra told police that Lookingbill had previously threatened to kill Williams, documents state.
Arrested: Detectives contacted Lookingbill's father, who told authorities that he picked Lookingbill up at 6:15 a.m. at his home and drove him to work. Lookingbill told his father that he had been in a fight with another man.
Lookingbill called the elder Lookingbill about 8 a.m. asking if police had called for him or if they were coming to his work to get him, documents state.
Just over two hours later at 10:25 a.m., authorities arrested Lookingbill at his work.
During an interview, Lookingbill told police that he walked to Cuadra's home and broke in through a second floor bedroom window, documents state.
Once inside, he allegedly looked at his children in their room.
He then allegedly used a knife he brought from home to stab Williams. Lookingbill got rid of it as he walked back home, documents state.
Lookingbill told police that "a lot of things between Olga, Nakia and himself had built up over the last couple years," documents state.
An autopsy on Williams' body will be performed Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
