York Catholic girls' basketball coach Kevin Bankos reached a milestone on Wednesday night.
The Fighting Irish's 60-23 triumph over Fairfield was Bankos' 200th career victory.
In Bankos' six seasons, his teams have lost just 18 games for a remarkable 91.7 winning percentage.
During his tenure, York Catholic has captured two state AA titles, six consecutive District 3 crowns and three York-Adams Tournament championships.
This year's team, after losing its opening game of the season to Trinity, has now won 18 in a row.
Courtney Demonda led York Catholic past Fairfield by scoring 15 points. Amelia York added 10 points for the Fighting Irish, who held the Green Knights to single-digit scoring in three of the four quarters.
OTHER GIRLS' BASKETBALL
WEST YORK 57, SOUTH WESTERN 47: At West York, the Bulldogs remained alone in first place in York-Adams Division I with the win. The Bulldogs improved to 17-2 overall and 11-2 in the division. Emily Wood, Kari Lankford and Heather Zinn each had 10 points for West York, which trailed at halftime, 25-24. West York used a 16-7 third-quarter surge to take control. Amy Spigelmyer and Lauren Schmidt split 26 points for South Western.
SUSQUEHANNOCK 74, BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 31: At York Springs, Susquehannock's defense held Bermudian Springs to single-digit scoring in the first three quarters of the non-league game. Jeanette Wilson and Katie Wagner led the Warriors' with 14 points each, and Alexis Murphy contributed 11 points to the winning cause. Susquehannock improved its overall record to 13-6.
RED LION 63, CEN TRAL YORK 38: At Central, the Lions pulled away in third quarter, outscoring the home team 21-9 to secure the York-Adams Division I victory. Morgan Kuehne led the Lions with 15 points. Kelsey Clever knocked in 11, while Devan Horka and Courtney Dimoff each scored 10. For the Panthers, Alexis Balanda scored 10 points. Red Lion improved to 10-3 in the division and 14-6 overall.
DOVER 66, SHIPPENS BURG 30: At Shippensburg, the Dover trio of Alayah Hall, Megan Lokhaiser and Maxine Herman combined for 40 points in the non-league game. The Eagles extended their perfect record to 20-0 with the victory.
