A 77-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the top of the York Hospital parking garage on Sunday afternoon, according to the York County Coroner's Office.
His death was the second suicide committed at the parking garage this month.
A passing motorist saw the man jumping and called 911, according to the coroner's office.
The man was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m. and cause of death was blunt force trauma, according to the coroner's office.
The victim was not a WellSpan employee or a patient at York Hospital, said Barry Sparks, spokesman for WellSpan.
"Based on this tragedy and a similar incident earlier this month, York Hospital leadership will review all options to prevent such circumstances in the future," Sparks said.
York Hospital security officers are now patrolling the parking garage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, he said.
There is no charge to park in the garage, and it is for visitors and some employees.
Sparks said that he is not aware of any suicide attempts there prior to 2013.
