The National Rifle Association has withdrawn from Harrisburg's Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, which runs from Feb. 2 to 10.

In a news release, the NRA stated it's pulling out of the show because of organizer Reed Exhibitions' "refusal" to reconsider its ban of sporting rifles from the show.

Sporting rifles are also known as assault weapons.

"We had called on Reed Exhibitions to reconsider their decision, unfortunately they have steadfastly refused to do so," according to the NRA press release.
