A York City woman was assaulted and carjacked early Sunday morning after giving a ride to a man she knew, police said.
Tirita Black, 39, suffered facial injuries when she was assaulted during the robbery, police said.
Black told officers she was driving around in her boyfriend's Cadillac DeVille about 1:45 a.m. Sunday and was in the area of the 300 block of East College Avenue when she saw a man she knew "from around," according to York City Police.
She let him in the car, but the man pulled out a gun and ordered her to drive, police said.
When she stopped the car in the 500 block of West Mason Avenue, he struck her in the face and stole the Cadillac, police said.
It was later found near the corner of Ross Street and Light Avenue, with Black's purse and cellphone still inside, police said. She was treated at York Hospital for a cut to her forehead and a chin injury, police said.
