A man who was rebuffed when he tried to start a conversation with two York City women didn't take the rejection well. He attacked the two women, punching and kicking them, police said.
According to York City Police, Candice Blackwell, 28, accidentally locked herself out of her home in the first block of North Newberry Street early Monday morning. She and her friend Stephanie Zrinski, 28, of Lancaster, were waiting outside Blackwell's home for someone to arrive to unlock the door.
About 4:45 a.m., they were approached by a man who tried to start a conversation with them, but Blackwell repeatedly told him to go away, police said. The man punched her several times in the face, kicked her several times in the face and pulled out a chunk of her hair, according to police.
When Zrinski tried to intervene, he punched her in the face too, police said. Both women suffered injuries.
