The peeling paint, broken gutters and fence, piles of debris covered in tarps and overgrown yard are a preview of what's inside the small house at the corner of Mandy Avenue and Dubois Street in Burnaby.
From the packed front porch, a peek through the entrance reveals boxes, electronics and more piled almost to the ceiling. An interior doorway is almost completely blocked.
It took firefighters three hours to reach a man who became trapped in the house for at least two days after some of his belongings toppled and pinned his legs.
