As influenza infections continue to increase, Hanover Hospital has begun limiting the number of visitors to two per patient at one time as a precaution.
Additional visitors may wait in the main lobby or at Nadine's Café, a news release said.
Anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms who must be at the hospital is required to wear a mask to protect patients.
Masks are available at the entrances to the main lobby and the Emergency Department.
The hospital strongly encourages anyone who is sick to avoid visiting patients.
Memorial Hospital and York Hospital also encourage visitors who are sick not to enter the hospital, but at this time neither hospital has set any additional visitor restrictions, said officials for both hospitals.
Flu activity for Pennsylvania remains at a widespread level, according to the Department of Health.
