First Friday

Pa. pride

The 2013 Pennsylvania Farm Show features food, animals, exhibits, demonstrations and more Jan. 5-12 at the Farm Show Complex along North Cameron and Maclay streets in Harrisburg. Holiday festivities

The 15th annual Boar's Head Festival at Grace United Methodist Church, 37 N. Broad St., York, will offer two performances showcasing the sights, sounds, food and people of a pre-Elizabethan English celebration of Epiphany. The feast ends with a retelling of the birth of the Christ child. The free performances start at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday. Information: (717) 843-8573.
     
 

Home tour

The York Twinning Association's Twelfth Night Holiday Home Tour lasts from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and takes visitors across centuries, starting with the 1761 Cookes House. On stage

York Little Theatre presents the play “Deathtrap,” a thrilling comedy with classic suspense style, Jan. 11-13 and 17-20 at the theater, 27 S. Belmont St., Spring Garden Township. Shows start at 3 p.m. Sundays and 7:30 p.m. on other nights.

Free concert

Croatian folk style comes to Martin Library, 159 E. Market St., York, when Kolo Club Marian performs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in a show sponsored by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society. The concert will feature traditional music, dancing and costumes as well as a dance lesson. Registration is recommended for the free shows. Sounds of the '60s

The Midtown Men, including Central York grad J. Take a hike

The York County Parks annual Cabin Fever hiking series begins with the Winter Scavenger Hike from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Rocky Ridge County Park in Springettsbury Township. Participants should meet at the Hidden Laurel parking area for a one-mile hike followed by hot-chocolate by the fire. Registration is requested for the free hike. The annual Cardboard Derby at Roundtop Mountain Resort features a Barnyard Bonanza theme this year.
