The weekend snow that began early Saturday morning is forecast to continue through the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather system moving through the area could drop as much as four inches, most of it falling before 4 p.m. Further snow showers are possible through 7 p.m., though less than half an inch of accumulation is expected, according to the forecast.
Sunday is expected to be sunny, windy and clear, with a high near 33 degrees and a nighttime low around 19.
Monday should be cloudy and cold, with highs in the low 30s.
And there's more snow in the forecast, but not until 2013. The weather service predicts a 30 percent chance of snow showers on New Year's Day.
