The York Catholic and Berks Catholic girls' basketball teams will square off for the second time in less than a week on Friday night.
The two parochial schools earned semifinal victories on Thursday night at Central York Tournament.
York Catholic rolled past Solanco, 53-34, while Berks Catholic downed the host school, 60-55.
York Catholic beat Berks Catholic (6-3) on Saturday night, 61-48.
In Thursday's win over Solanco, the Irish (5-1) were paced by 19 points from Morgan Klunk. The Irish led just 12-11 after one quarter, but used an 18-3 second-quarter surge to take control. Marissa Ressler and Hannah Laslo each added 10 points for York Catholic.
In the other semifinal, Sam Sweeney (17), Alexis Balanda (15) and Alexis Cash (11) each hit double digits for Central (1-5), but it wasn't enough. The Panthers will play Solanco (5-3) in Friday's consolation game.
OTHER GIRLS' BASKETBALL
UPPER DARBY 59, RED LION 49: In a semifinal game of the State College tournament, Red Lion (5-2) trailed 30-15 at halftime and 48-29 after three quarters and was unable to come back despite scoring 20 fourth-quarter points. Lions' forward Jenny Horvatinovic pumped in a team-high 20 points while teammate Kasey Seitz added 12 points. Red Lion will next face Kittanning in the consolation game Friday. Kittanning lost to State College, 67-49, in the other semifinal. State College and Upper Darby will meet for the title.
