Classes will begin in February for the new massage therapy program at the York campus of HACC.
The program has been so successful at the Harrisburg campus that the college decided to add it in York to help students with travel and allow them to be certified in an accredited program in York, said Susan Biggs, director of healthcare education for HACC.
The deadline to enroll is Monday, Feb. 4.
Curriculum for the 900-hour program will be identical to what has been offered at Harrisburg since 2007. An online portion was recently added to the program.
Massage therapy courses at HACC cover Swedish massage, reflexology, sports massage, connective tissue therapy and neuromuscular therapy (NMT), along with business practices, communication and ethics.
Students complete their required massage training in a student studio, which will be open to the public in late spring.
Tuition is $10,950 and reduced tuition is available for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
Students must be 18 or older and submit an application with a $75 fee. For more information, visit www.hacc.edu/healthcareers or call Nina Kottcamp at 221-1386.
