One man was killed and another injured in a shooting late Sunday in York City.

Just before midnight, York City Police were called to the area of West Market and North Newberry streets, where they found two men with gunshot wounds, police said.

Rodney Eugene Seaton, 48, of York City, died of his injuries at the scene, police said.

Vincent Howze, 56, also of York City, was taken to York Hospital with injuries that appeared not to be life-threatening, according to Police Chief Wes Kahley. Howze's condition was not available Monday morning.

Police are not yet sure what provoked the shooting or who is responsible, Kahley said.

"It doesn't appear to be random, but we're still trying to piece together exactly what happened," he said.

Kahley said the older age of the victims makes this shooting "unusual" for York City.

"The investigators are following up some leads and trying to piece it all together," he said.

Police are also looking for two people to question about the shooting.

Wanted for questioning are Jonathan Pacheo-Morales, 36, and Yamileth Martinez-Claudio, 28.

"We believe they have knowledge about what happened," Kahley said. "We need to speak with them."

An autopsy on Seaton is scheduled for Wednesday at Allentown's Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to the York County coroner's office.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact York City Police at (717) 846-1234.
