With nearly 500 houses decorated for Christmas in West York, the borough's block watch selected winners among participating homeowners for its first annual West York Neighborhood Decorating Contest.
Winners received cash from the block watch, as well as gift cards from local businesses.
And the winners are:
Most Griswold Residence: First place: Sharon Bowman at 155 N. Sumner St. Second place: West York Inn at 1400 W. Market St.
Best Blinged Out Street: First place: 1700 block of Orange Street, with more than 18 houses decorated. Second place: 1100 block of West Poplar Street.
Most Unusual/Innovative: First Place: Richard Wagner at 1128 W. Poplar St. Second place: 1126 W. Poplar St.
Best Use of Characters: First place: Tim Miller at 1606 Orange St. Second place: 102 N. Seward St.
Overall Winner: First place: Elaine Goshen at 1707 W. Philadelphia St. Second place: 1569 W. Poplar Terrace.
There were also seven honorable mentions.
