A Dover Township woman thwarted a possible home invasion by slamming the door in the face of a masked person, police said.

Northern York County Regional Police said a woman who lives in the 3700 block of Jessica Road was home with her young child about 10 a.m. Friday when she heard a knock on the door that leads to her attached garage.

Thinking it might be a delivery person, the woman unlocked and opened the door, only to be confronted by someone wearing a ski mask, police said.

She slammed the door shut and locked it, then called 911. The masked person didn't threaten her or make any demands, police said.

Police said the woman's overhead garage door had been left open.
