North Hills Elementary was on a short lockdown Thursday morning due to a warrant being served to a hunter in the neighborhood who had crossed through school property earlier in the week.
Two hunters were believed to have driven an ATV on the property on Tuesday on their way to nearby state game lands, according to Julie Romig, the Central York School District spokeswoman. While school officials couldn't immediately find the hunters, they did find tire tracks.
Police believe they have identified one of the people involved and served a warrant to them Thursday, Romig said. Because of district policy, the school went on lockdown from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. since the warrant was served near the school.
